Each month you got a gratitude newsletter because building a company is not a one woman’s job.
You can read them all here.
From my business partners, to you, our team, guides and partners, to those who took a chance on us when we were new, to my family and everyone else who, in some way, interacted with Beyond Dracula in the past ten years, I am grateful.
Today, I am grateful for simpler things.
I am grateful to get to age.
You see, I wake up and take for granted that I do. Sometimes it actually annoys me to grow older.
I remind myself that I have two dear friends who did not get to turn 40. One died of cancer and the other was in a car accident. Gone.
As a huge bonus, I am also in good health. Except for my sciatic nerve, which gets upset at times, I can move my body, run and live without pain. I usually take this too for granted.
Last but not least, I am grateful for love.
One of my favorite scenes from a movie is the beginning of Love Actually; the scenes in the arrivals at Heathrow Airport. Do you know why?
Because, just like Hugh Grant narrates, love actually is all around.
Writing about these three things, life, health and love, I thought about dealing with their loss, too.
It’s usually when we or someone close loses them that we gain perspective.
So my invitation to you (and myself) is to be wiser and not expect loss to remind us of what truly matters.
Let’s be grateful now for what and who we have in our lives.
And more importantly, let’s tell them.
Raluca
