With the second most important tourism event just behind us, I was pondering on what makes us travel. I often ask myself this question because for me traveling is vital so I wonder if we all have the “bug” or just some. My theory is that we all love to travel; some might not travel by moving physically from a place to another but from my point of view, even reading a book or daydreaming is traveling.
ITB is the perfect place to “travel”. Whether you will find more about your next travel destination, try out new food and drinks, see various national costumes or just hear all the languages you can imagine spoken by people of various races and colors…you travel.
But what could you see at the ITB? Only Romania’s stand had 50+ firms represented and just like in London, the whole world seemed to be there. It took more than 15 minutes to stroll around all the halls hosting only German representatives! Truth be told, walking around the fair is in itself exhausting not to mention the energy it takes to engage with all the amazing country representatives that you meet. I felt drained every day and yet woke up to return the day after because there were even more destinations just waiting to be discovered and even more traveling to be done.
